It’s not often that I find a vintage-inspired place that resonates, but there’s something about this one… Maybe it’s all the visual texture, or the way the art is displayed? (BTW, if you’re looking for a similar way to hang your gallery, try these picture rails!)

I’ve said over and over again that graphic prints are a great addition to any modern, masculine space. Something like this star chart, for example, makes a clear, colorful statement–without overpowering your room.
When I see an item like this, I’m always reminded of one of my favorite masters of modern masculine design: Thomas O’Brien, who has incorporated a similar chart in several of his designs–like so:

When someone refers to a space having “good bones,” this is the kind of masculine apartment design that immediately comes to mind. There’s such a terrific flow here–from the dining area (with that amazing Orbit chandelier) through to the living room, and beyond. Throw in those sweet wood floors, paint the whole place white, give it smart, timeless pieces, and you have yourself a real winner.
