There’re a lot of great house interior design ideas going on in this simple shot, from the sleek, modern chairs, the simple, round tables and the (faux?) hide rugs to the sweet peek at what looks like a terrific outdoor space (does that look like an al fresco bathtub to anyone else?). Plus: great materials–what’s not to love about a concrete floor with character-adding cracks?–and those windows all around the perimeter of the house. The textured cement eaves overhanging the windows and encircling the courtyard create wonderfully subtle visual interest as well. Read Full Article →
Drinks
Because it’s cocktail time somewhere on the planet right now… And because of this terrific bar cart from Crate&Barrel. If the metal/industrial drinks cart is your style, but this one breaks the bank, take a look at this budget-friendly option instead.

Yes, please.
Good morning. What better way to start the day than with stove-top brewed espresso in a perfect modern mug?

The Office
Don’t know if it’s on the map or not, but this would look great in it. (Um, what’s “The Office,” Alex?) Okay, I’ll admit it was a stretch at best, but this would be a fun addition to the movie poster collection you may have already begun for your space. Take a closer look and discover scores of films in this retro LA street map style artwork.

Mr. Mix
Wow. Just look at these great textures in this glimpse of a space. Amazing. Truly digging the storage system and that Barcelona chair and ottoman, too!
Mastery
I’ve always said there’s nothing better than when simple design is done well. These Eames dining chairs are the epitome of that philosophy–working beautifully in this MCM space as well as in the more GLAMasculine room in my previous post. Having eight of these for my dining table would put just the right polish on my own home.

Chock-a-Block
Great rooms, filled to the brim with stuff–but sweet stuff; the Bauhaus chairs and Tivoli sound system in the first image are lust-worthy. Throw in the trifecta of Eames plywood, Eames lounge (see it peeking out there in the second photo?) and Panton dining chairs–all so nicely done, too. Terrific textures, manly materials, all kinds of goodies.
Pan Am 707 Collection
We all know I have a thing for luggage, bags and other remnants of a more romanticized travel era, but did you know Pan Am is still in the game of making their iconic travel cases? Not only that, but they’re gearing up for the launch of a new collection — found courtesy of photographer extraordinare, and the man who shot these images, Nathan Michael. Can’t wait until these hit the runway…
