By now, most of you know how much I love images that show designs using concrete. Here are some of my recent favorites, in all areas of the house.

Outside

Such a warm and inviting outdoor space. Love all the concrete. | japanesetrash.com

One of my favorite outdoor spaces ever, this one uses concrete for the pavers, the retaining wall, the fire pit, and even for those low-slung chairs.

Stairs

These concrete stairs and the terrific railing are awesome. | japanesetrash.com

Such a lot of concrete goodness here with that wall and these stairs. The creative railing is awesome, too.

Bathroom

Bathroom countertop, low wooden shelf, tile work, enclosure--it's all great. | japanesetrash.com

So much to love here, but it’s the simple floating concrete counter that is my favorite element of the space.

Kitchen

Concrete kitchen counters can have so much character. | japanesetrash.com

Concrete kitchen counters can have so much great character, like this large, mottled expanse does.

Exterior

Amazing concrete architecture. | japanesetrash.com

The concrete exterior really suits the architecture, style and setting of this house. Amazing.

Unless you’ve been under a rock this morning, you’ll already have learned that George Clooney got married in Italy over the weekend. Sites are filled with images from the wedding, and I figured now is as good a time as any to do a quick George Clooney house tour post–this one featuring his home in Baja Mexico, designed by Legorreta + Legorreta.

Like the man himself, this living room in George Clooney's Baja Mexico home is relaxed and stylish. | japanesetrash.com

Like the man himself, the entire house is relaxed and stylish. And handsome, of course. This living room seems something of an afterthought to me — but who needs it when there’s a gorgeous pool just steps away?

This is where I'd spend most of my indoor (waking) time, were I George Clooney's guest--his bar. | japanesetrash.com

This is where I’d spend most of my indoor (waking) time, were I George Clooney’s guest–his bar.

Terrific woods in this contemporary kitchen at George Clooney's Mexico home. | japanesetrash.com

Terrific woods in this sleek, contemporary kitchen. The low-maintenance floor is a smart decision, too.

The tropical wood theme continues in this bedroom.

A super-luxurious bathroom at George Clooney's Baja Mexico home. | japanesetrash.com

And this luxurious bathroom looks so inviting.

When we last saw Jeffrey Alan Marks, the LA-based interior designer, he was hard at work remodeling the shower at his gym on the Bravo TV show, “Million Dollar Decorators”. That’s been a while–over three years, actually, which is a bit of a surprise to me–so I thought I’d revisit his work and feature some of my favorites.

The Man: JAM

LA-based interior designer, Jeffrey Alan Marks--aka JAM. | japanesetrash.com

Marks likes to refer to himself by his initials, JAM, and tends to look as cool and composed as one of his interiors. On the show, he’s portrayed as bit more frayed at the edges than this photo would have you think.

Malibu

This Malibu living room is a treat for the senses. | japanesetrash.com

This living room is full of great pieces–I love every single one of them. At first glance, the long sofa against the back wall appears to be half navy and half white; I wish it was.

Santa Monica Canyon

The dining and kitchen area of JAM & Ross Cassidy's home. | japanesetrash.com

JAM and his partner, Ross Cassidy, share this home–famous for having a row boat attached upside-down to the bedroom ceiling. This homey eat-in kitchen is appealing.

Coronado

Love the clean lines and terrific materials of this kitchen. | japanesetrash.com

I’m all about the clean lines and sleek contemporary materials of this kitchen. Love the huge window by the sink, too.

Sonoma

Texture. Color. Want. | japanesetrash.com

It only takes a few well-chosen pieces at the right scale to create a stunning space. | japanesetrash.com

These spaces do so much with very few pieces–just the right ones in the right scale and combination and it’s perfect.

Beautiful wood, stone, and metallics in this kitchen. | japanesetrash.com

Beautiful wood, stone, and metallics make this kitchen terrific.
