Visual feast: rough and smooth textures together. | japanesetrash.com

The idea for this post began – as so many things do for me – with an image. I won’t even try to be mysterious. It was the image above of the simple but captivating entry of a very nice lake house. I saw the photo and I really, really liked it. And the more I looked at it, the more I liked it, and the more I began to wonder why. Turns out, I’ve been visually seduced by the mixture of rough and smooth textures found in the above space.– See more at: The Interior Collective.

Color match: concrete. | japanesetrash.com

I love everything about concrete. I love it as a material, since it can do almost anything and work almost anywhere. I love it as part of a structure and as part of an interior. I love it when it’s used to create fixtures, furnishings, and just about anything. You get the picture: I’m a big fan of concrete. Since I’m always thinking about concrete the material, and I have no problem seeing it used to make all sorts of things, I’ve not really given much thought about it as a color choice—until now.– See more at: The Interior Collective.
