I’d love to be spending my weekend here, lounging in the sun, dipping in the pool, and enjoying a few cocktails.
This is just a small corner of a gorgeous Long Island home. I could stand to have a weekend here!

The central pool seems like an oasis amidst all the lines of the architecture in this space. It all works together so well, though.

There were three reveals (of a sort) from the Million Dollar Decorators on Bravo this week. I really liked the work Mary McDonald did on her client’s guest house, but I’m not finding any post-worthy images of that work, so here’s a peek at her portfolio instead. She says on the show that she thinks she does masculine very well; I’d say she does GLAMasculine — which, in and of itself, is a contradiction in terms. I think of it as overly-layered with a bit too much old Hollywood sparkle to really be masculine…

This pool outside the living room of a modern house in San Diego lies between the home and the street, its gurgling helps create a sound barrier from the noise of traffic. Brilliant.
