Color match: concrete. | japanesetrash.com

I love everything about concrete. I love it as a material, since it can do almost anything and work almost anywhere. I love it as part of a structure and as part of an interior. I love it when it’s used to create fixtures, furnishings, and just about anything. You get the picture: I’m a big fan of concrete. Since I’m always thinking about concrete the material, and I have no problem seeing it used to make all sorts of things, I’ve not really given much thought about it as a color choice—until now.– See more at: The Interior Collective.

I’m really attracted to these spaces because they feature simple interior design — no tricks or amazing feats of decorating are needed to emulate this in your own home. Take a look and see if you agree.

Simple Interior Design: Living Room

This relaxed living room looks so comfortable. | japanesetrash.com

This living room very smartly relies on the texture provided by the floor to do the heavy lifting; all of the pieces are simple and easy. The layering of cushions and the added rugs are just right.

Simple Interior Design: Bedroom

This simple bedroom is just right. | japanesetrash.com

Probably the trickiest thing about this bedroom is the use of two pendants on either side of the bed. Everything else is simplicity itself–and those lamps aren’t a huge distraction for me.

Outside may be the easiest place to keep it simple with design, but this is just right. I could see myself enjoying the fire and a glass of that wine.
